About L’Arche, Toronto
For over 35 years, L’Arche Toronto has brought to life the vision of Jean Vanier, where people with and without intellectual disabilities share life in community with a wide circle of family, friends, and neighbours. We provide supports for daily living, employment, and community participation as well as Sol Express, a creative and performance arts program. We help individuals with intellectual disabilities discover their gifts and abilities, and support them to achieve their goals for a meaningful life. L’Arche Toronto is a community within the community working with others to build a world where everyone belongs.
L’Arche Toronto Sol Express is an innovative creative and performance arts program that focuses on developing the talents and skills of artists with intellectual disabilities.
Sol Express Performance Arts and Sol Express Creative Arts collaborate to produce original works that range from on-stage performances to visual-art showcases. Sol Express participated in the Disability Arts Showcase at the Art Gallery of Ontario, and has performed at venues such as the Papermill Theatre at Todmorden Mills and Nathan Phillips Square.
L’Arche Toronto’s Sol Express promotes inclusion, friendship, self-confidence, and community building.
