AS Craft-Sewing

Fall session 1: September 11 to October 30 
Fee: $195 for 7 weeks (no class on Thanksgiving Oct.9)
Fall session 2: November 6 to December 18 
Fee: $195 for 7 weeks +13 hst

Spring session: March 19 to April 30 
Fee: $170 for 6 weeks +13 hst (no class on Easter Apr.2)
Summer session: May 7 to June 25  
Fee: $195 for 7 weeks +13 hst (no class on Victoria day May 21)
Work with various textiles (wool, weaving, sewing, and more) to create different projects and art pieces at LucSculpture. Learn how to work with different materials to make fun projects of different sizes. Let your imagination run wild and pick up some sewing skills to apply now and in the future. Classes are open to all levels and includes all required materials. All participants will be supervised and learn how to sew and work with textiles safely and creatively.
Bio: Mihoko is a graduate of Mode Gakuen Fashion Institute in Nagoya, Japan and worked as a costume maker with the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity for several years. Mihoko has also worked as a corporate pattern maker as well as the manager of a cafe and gallery geared toward peer to peer instruction and creation of Japanese crafts in Nagoya, Japan. After moved to Canada, Mihoko completed a work study and was employed with the costume department at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity in Banff Alberta, Canada. Mihoko was principally employed during the Summer Arts Festival with ad hoc work related to larger projects throughout the year. For example, she was involved in the creation of the costumes for Love Lies Bleeding, the Elton John-inspired production of the Alberta Ballet. Additionally, she participated in several Master Classes and learning events at the Banff Centre.
