May11-12: Framing Workshop

Framing Workshop with instructor Tony Sladden

Weekend of May 11 & 12 from 10 am to 4 pm (includes lunch break)

Cost: $150 + $25  supplies fee (supplied some mats,  tools, some molding and glass sample to cut)

 

An opportunity to frame your own work and learn the professional skills!

Day one: learning how to measure your prints/art works, and to cut a single opening mat. How to cut a double mat and how to mount a print. will also learn how to cut a glass.
Day two: learning how to cut a mat with a V groove and how to fit a finished piece into a frame. How to join molding to complete a picture frame and how to repair a picture frame.

Tony Sladden was born and raised in the Caribbean on the island of Trinidad. He migrate to Canada in 1969. Tony loves photography and in the process had the opportunity to learn about picture framing. In 1995, Tony opened his own photography and framing gallery, Tony Sladden Photography & Custom Picture Framing, in the east end of the city of Toronto which he ran successfully until 2003. Tony has recently expanded his natural creative and artistic abilities into furniture restoration and refinishing. His works can still be seen in various publications, private collections, photography competitions and displays around the city.
