Natural Colour & Herbal Allies
In the class we explore making natural dyes with medicinal herbs. Beginning with springtime plant allies, we will create a natural color palette for textiles and also create herbal remedies with the same plants. It’s a two in one workshop to delight all plant lovers senses.

Bio: Nicole is a multidisciplinary artist telling stories of ecological consciousness through her works.  She runs the label Spontaneous Atelier, designing naturally coloured ware-able and operates a natural dye studio focusing on bio-regional colours on textiles. Nicole studied fashion at George Brown College in Toronto, Fine Arts at Richmond University in London, Uk. Apart from traditional studies she has apprenticeship with silversmiths in London, toured textiles mills through northern Italy, managed a Irish high fashion boutique in London’s east end, and curated photo-stories collaborating with artists across the world. She recently completed her Chartered Herbalist Diploma at Dominion Herbal College, BC.

Her interests in teaching began when she began teaching up-cycled flower crown workshops at sustainability events around London, UK in 2010. Since then her passion for sharing earth friendly practices have grown. She has taught children tie dye in festival fields in Cornwall, to indigo workshops under the blue moon in her garden atelier in Toronto.
