Al-chemical Indigo Magic: Explore the magic behind Indigo Blue. Indigo is one of the oldest true shades of blue used for thousands of years to colour textiles in many traditional cultures. Indigo dye is made from the plant “Indigo-fera”, and is dye process not far from alchemy, with blues coming into being right before your eyes! We will explore the entire process of creating natural blues from start to finish. Participants will create their own living indigo vat, learn the oxidization process and explore creative Shibori resists and experiential techniques on textiles.
