Dianne Lee is a Canadian ceramic artist and instructor based in Toronto’s historic Corktown
neighborhood. Dianne studied ceramics at the Ontario College of Art and Design from 2002-2006. Since graduating Dianne lived and work in England for 3 years, during that time she interned with British Pottery Deborah Baynes, visited multiple pottery studios and travelled all over Europe. Dianne also found herself in New Zealand for a year where she was a member of the Wellington Potter’s Association.
Dianne is now a full time studio artist who makes functional work, collaborates with other artists and independently developed her own conceptual art projects. Her pottery embodies elements of playful exploration, functionality and surprise. All her work is wheel-thrown and assembled or altered during the throwing process. Dianne continuously explores a range of ideas from contemporary issues to traditional pottery with an emphasis on process and context.
