Winter session:  January 21 to March 11
Fee: 225 for 8 weeks + 13% taxes

Spring session:  March 25 to May 6
Fee: 195 for 7 weeks + 13% taxes

Summer session:  May 13 to June 24

Materials will be included on the first day. After week one all materials* listed below should be brought each week (*bring at least 2 surfaces.

In this introductory acrylic painting course investigate and create abstract works based on many different painting techniques. Learn a wide variety of techniques such as: graduated blend, scumble, sgraffito, smaffito, masking off, stipple, impasto, dripping, and high relief build up with inclusion painting using modeling paste . Using the principals of design ,colour and composition exercises you will develop your own style. This course will explore all styles: surrealism, primitivism, minimalism, and colour field painting.

Bio:
Lauren McKinley RenzettiLauren McKinley Renzetti is a mixed media artist, specializing in abstraction of the world around her through lino block printing, silkscreen, collage and acrylic paint.
She received a combined honours art and theatre degree from McMaster University in 1995. Lauren has been teaching art for over twenty years with all ages. She has worked at the Art Gallery of Hamilton, Ryerson University, and been the artist in residence at Unicamp of Ontario for seven years. She currently teaches at the AGO , Art Works Art School in the west end and is the curator of Neighbourhood Galleries in the Beaches.
Lauren shows her work widely and takes part in many group and solo shows in Southern Ontario, Brooklyn and Bulgaria.
