Bio: Andrea regards herself as a perpetual student – “I can’t stop experimenting with new forms, new techniques, tools and surface design. I’m very interested in combining techniques from different mediums, be it print-making, painting, textiles and calligraphy”. When I see something new, I think, ‘how can I do that?’ – I love to share that sense of joy and wonder in discovering something new, in learning something new, with my students”.
“Creativity resides in everyone and it is applicable to everything you do, and clay, for me, is the perfect material in which to express it.
Andrea discovered her passion for clay in the charming and beautiful city of St. John’s, Newfoundland. She has studied with many different renowned potters and artists over the last 12 years, and has taught pottery to both adults and children for the last 6 years. Her travels to pottery centres in the US, Turkey and Crete have been a major inspiration for her. She now experiments from her home in Toronto.
The meeting of function and form, of what is regarded as craft and as art intrigue her
