Explore the world of design by using your imagination and creativity to illustrate and compose your chosen motives on paper in a repetitive method to create a full page of surface design. In this course you will be practicing composition and creating motives using acrylic paint or other paint medium.
BIO: Afsaneh enrolled in the Ecole des Beaux Arts de Sion, Switzerland and continued to study the visual arts at Middlesex County College, New Jersey and the New York Studio School where she obtained a Diploma in Fine Art. She further achieved a degree in Textile and Surface Design from FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology) in NYC, and a Master of Woven Design from Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Création Industrielle in Paris. While studying fine art at New York Studio School one of her sculptures was awarded and chosen to be in a photo shoot for Vogue magazine. She also was among top creative students from FIT to present her design to Bill Blass. Afsaneh has many years of experience as a graphic artist producing wallpaper designs for wall covering printing companies. Meanwhile, she has continued painting with different forms of media, created decorative textiles and incorporated textiles into her paintings as a fusion of both in form of collage. Afsaneh has had various solo and group exhibitions in Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa.
