Life Sketching is the first step for Figurative Art. In order to maintain originality of work, artists require to stripe natural characters of each and every one of life subjects by themselves; without any involved intermediate third party vision, image processing corrections, or misleading print perspectives that affects the three dimensional aspect of their own creativity.
After years of painting and sculpting, by another fresh look at a live model, I still discover new physical proportions, new signs of emotion, different body movements and unique natural characters for every subject. For me, body language is the principle of reflecting feelings on work and I require viewing at least two consecutive movements of the model to discover this language.
I do not forget my first ever group life sketching at Luc Sculpture 3 years ago when I discovered unique scenario of 25 consecutive poses in my first series of sketch. I loved the ambiance of the studio, convenient location with available free parking spot in Toronto East York, friendly gathered professional artists, and comfort facilities that Luc offered to guests and to the model. It was unfortunate that sketching sessions were only once in a month there, so I talked to him and suggested my help to twice the sessions. I am delightful by knowing him and became more delightful by having a role to setup sessions.
