Learning to draw faces is one of the most challenging yet a major asset in the visual world.

Caricatures are comical distortions of the face based on a keen observation of a prominent part of the subject’s face. This style of drawing exaggerates certain features of a face to gently parody the subject, evoking personality, mood and feeling of the moment. Students will focus on traditional studies of the head and cartooning styles of drawing portraits. They will be encouraged to work with a variety of medium – graphite, charcoal, conté, oil pastels as well as acrylic. This course will give students the ability and skills necessary to develop their own style of portraiture and caricature drawing.

Cost: $140 for 7-week course
