Mosaic Class

Mosaic is a pictorial method of making images using stone, marble, granite, ceramic tiles, and glass.

First, work on your ideas inspire by a picture, a drawing, or a concepts…You will learn how to do the preparatory drawing, transfer the drawing to the backing board, prepare the tesserae (little tiles) and apply them to your design until it’s completed.
You will then learn how to apply the grout for the final finishing of the mosaic. This class is for all ages to have fun with no experience in mosaic needed!

Supplies provided: a nipper, ceramic tiles small margin, flat steel trowel, a mixing container, wet cloths, grouting trowel (with a rubber surface), marble and ceramic tile adhesive, grout, sponge, 3/4 inch plywood panel approximately 12”X 16” in size (or you can work on size you wish to be), four strips of wood or plywood 1” wide to temporarily frame the plywood panel used to house the mosaic, screws to attach temporary strips of wood to plywood panel, screws to attach temporary strips of wood to plywood panel, paper to sketch the mosaic design, carbon paper, palette knife
You are welcome to bring your own tools or materials you desire to work with!
