4-week PHOTOGRAPHY CLASS for Beginning to Intermediate

Wednesdays, March 7, 14, 21, and 28, 7:00-9:00 pm

Photography classes in Toronto can be very expensive and time consuming. For the first time in Danforth East, a collective group of local professionals is getting together to help share valuable information on taking quality photographs. For four weeks, you will learn essential tricks for lighting, exposure, organizing and editing your photos along with creating the best prints of your photographs. Each on of these classes will consist of two hours of practical information that you can use for everything from fine art, portraits, special events, nature or travel photography.

Class 1 (Mar. 7th). EXPOSURE
Have you ever wondered how professionals are able to capture a shot with just the right exposure? Bring in your camera we demonstrate you how to use the different settings and explain the basic techniques for getting the perfect exposure. In this class we will understand aperture, shutter speed, focal length, ISO and other tricks of the trade in an easy and practical manner.

Class 2 (Mar. 14th). LIGHTING
Good lighting is essential to a photograph but doesn’t have to be complicated. Sarika Sehgal, a fine art photographer shares some tips that will have you using natural light and simple cheap household equipment to drastically enhance your image.  We will also discuss different kinds of lighting, their effect and shooting in low-light conditions.

Class 3 (Mar. 21st). ORGANISING AND EDITING
Once you’ve taken a photograph, what do you do with it? Photographers can have thousands of images to organise.
Lightroom is one of the fastest and most efficient photo libraries that allows you to create a custom catalogue while allowing you to edit, enhance and digitally work your photographs much like Photoshop but in a much easier and simple way. This is one of the best softwares on the market and is used by most professionals today. In two hours you will be able to create your own catalogue and improve the colour and sharpness of your pics.

Class 4 (Mar. 28th). PRINTING & FRAMING
Once you’ve altered your pics to your liking, they are ready to be printed. How can you make sure your print looks exactly like the image on your screen? Learn how to work with colour, dimensions and pixels to create the sharpest photograph ready for framing. You will also get a basic understanding of some Framing fundamentals.
