After School Jewellery Making Class

Tuesday, 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm, age group: 6 to 12 years old

Learn to design and make your own jewellery using wire and beads. In this classes, you will learn the skills to work with the wires and also basic technique to create your own jewelry and wire art. Wire art is widely used in jewelry making together with beads or stones and it is one of the traditional art forms that go back thousands of years ago. In this classes, you will learn the skills to work with the wires, have an understanding of the difference in each wire types to have the best results in your design, and also basic technique to create your own jewelry and wire sculptures. No experience is needed for this classes!

All materials are included in price. Drop in / try out session is $30 + HST. Class space is limited to 10 kids

Mozhgan Abassi Bio:

Mozhgan is a visual artist and jeweller who holds a Masters Degree in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage from Islamic Azad University in Tehran and a Bachelor’s Degree in Craft and Design from Sureh University in Tehran, Iran.

As a jeweller, Mozhgan has worked with a variety of materials, designing and creating different forms of jewellery. In addition to glass, she uses ceramic, metal wire, and stone. As a visual artist, Mozhgan creates miniatures inspired by old stories from her city of origin, Sanandaj, Iran.

Mozhgan has participated in several national and international exhibitions in Iran and Turkey. In Iran, Mozhgan has also worked as an arts educator in public schools and has delivered private art classes for children and adults. Mozhgan has worked as a Conservator and Restorator in historical sites in Iran and Turkey. She now aims to build a career in the Arts, Culture and Heritage sector in Toronto and she currently also teaches at George Brown College.
