These workshops and classes offered by our art school are ranging from a try-out session to advancing your skills. We aim to create interactive online art courses via Zoom that you get a great value out of it!

In our online art courses, you are able to directly ask questions to the teachers, get one-on-one feedback, and get a lot of good energies from being in the creative circle.

For the adult courses, we will record the video and will send the link to you for your reference later on. We are still a beginner at this format of teaching and we will likely have a lot of learning curve…but for sure that all the great teachers are waiting for you to join!

Art Courses for Adults & Teens

Please note: most of the classes are in smaller group settings (up to 8 or 10 people max) to keep the interaction with teachers possible for everyone.

Let's Master "Hands"! - in 3 mediums

Hands in artworks can tell a large part of the story, but it is not an easy part of the body to draw or paint. In these interactive workshops, you will learn to draw and paint various hands and gestures in great detail. You will get one-on-one support online during the session and you can send a drawing for feedback from the teacher via email after the session.

When was the last time you forget everything in your head and just draw? 
Whether you have had that moment or not in the past, experience that magical moment by you being in a creative space!

In this drawing class, you will be learning the basics of drawing using a variety of materials such as pencil, charcoal, and ink/pen and drawing on different subjects to expand your pantry. You will also learn how to use the colours to create some highlights and finishing touches on the drawings. Any skill levels are welcomed to join this course!

Enjoy the relaxing painting time at home. This painting class is open to both oil painters and acrylic painters and also to the absolute beginner in painting.

All aspects of representational painting will be taught through a series of painting projects both from photos and from life. This art class includes weekly demonstrations and instruction as a group and one on one via ZOOM.  Students are welcome to join the weekly project or work on their own projects.  Irene shows beginner painters the easy to follow methods that are sure to engage you in a fun way that will quickly improve your painting skills and confidence in the art of painting.

This six-week online portraiture classes will provide a clear and easy methodology to follow for those interested in painting portraits. The class will include demonstrations and instruction in the following key areas: shapes, values, edges and colour temperature. This class is open to all levels.
Students are welcome to work from their own reference photos once their first portrait is completed. Photos should be single light source, ¾ lighting or lit from above. Do not use flash in taking the photography for the portraiture.

This cartooning class is an introduction to the fundamentals of character design. You will learn how to develop your character(s), make a model sheet out of them, and put them in the right place in terms of perspective and composition to create a single panel cartoon.

Date: Wed. May 12th goes to June 23rd, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm for 7 weeks

In this three-hour zoom class, we will cover: basic tools and a handful of nifty techniques with watercolour paint to help improve your painting. Whether you are a new watercolourist or a returning painter these strategies will help you improve the clarity, depth and texture to your watercolour painting.
Learn about layering, washes, use of salt, wax resist, dry brush, graduated blends and wet into wet. We will learn techniques, with hands-on step by step demos and then put those demos into practice to paint either a landscape the instructor provides or an image you have. Enjoy painting in your own home with an instructor.

Materials You will need (anything you have is OK, if you cannot get them):
– Several sheets of 11 x 14 Watercolour paper 140lb.
– Watercolor set- either dry/moist pucks or tubes (minimum- yellow, red, blue, black) What ever you have on hand will do leonardo da vinci, turner or windsor newton are awesome
– Palette if wet tubes of paint
– Several rounds and flat-ended watercolour brushes
– 2 water containers, paper towel, white wax crayon or candle, or masking fluid, green painters masking tape, the surface to tape your paper too, a wooden board or plexiglass would be ideal.
– pencil, erasure
– 2H pencil, watercolour pencils are optional but also great additions.

In this workshop, you will learn the skills to create beautiful landscape paintings in watercolor. We will start to go through everything you need to know about painting watercolor landscapes.

The instructor will show you how to start painting the different elements of landscapes such as skies, rocks, and trees and give you many options for the effect you want to achieve.

You will learn some techniques like wet in wet and wet in dry and learn some techniques to capture the light and dark then choose colors to create an atmosphere and transfer an emotion in the finished landscape painting.

This is a beginner-friendly online workshop, no experience is necessary.

Learn how to use modern calligraphy pens and tools to create stylish alphabets and words. You will also learn how to design and form the words and positioning those words on the page.

In this interactive online workshops, students will explore how colour works in relation to its neighbours on the colour wheel. We will paint our way through true primary, secondary and tertiary colours along with homogeneous, analogous and complementary colours. You can join 2 parts or just one!

Create your own jewellery with wire and beads! Great to learn as a hobby at home and also for a gift too.

Art Courses for Children

We believe children need and learn from social interactions. So we are creating interactive classes to stimulate their body & mind at home!

Expand your children’s love for painting and their confidence in their acrylic painting skills! This after-school painting course is open to children aged 8-12. All aspects of representational painting will be taught through a series of kid-friendly painting projects. This children’s painting class includes instruction as a group as well as one on one.  We work with a variety of subjects that your children will be inspired to paint and take home! The goal of this class is to build skill & confidence and to encourage creativity.

Date: Monday, May 11th to June 22nd, 4:00 – 5:30 pm – FULL!

In this class, children will participate in creative movement, improvisation, character play, and storytelling, in addition to mindfulness meditation and movement activities. They will learn about themselves, each other and the world around them. Through collaborative creative play, kids will have fun while building communication skills, self-esteem, and greater social awareness. 

Term 1) Monday 5:00 – 6:00 pm & Tuesdays, 2:15 – 3:15 pm  until Tues. May 12th

An art portfolio is a studio instruction class designed to improve the student’s technical skills and artistic knowledge. The course will focus on the basics of drawing such as comparative sight training and incorporates the study of perspective, shading, composition and colour theory. Students will learn to render using a variety of media while developing their own personal style. Different approaches to art will be incorporated including representational and expressive art.

All students are welcome, whether a beginner pursuing art as a form of recreation, or as an outlet for self-expression, or for those looking to improve their body of work for art school submission.

Let’s do clay at home! In this course, we will supply all the materials and most of the tools to do clay sculpture at home. You will also get recorded video instructions so your kids (and family) can do clay sculpture at home on your own. You will need to pick up the supply at the door of the studio and bring back the tools and artwork to studio for firing. You can also connect with us if you have questiton.
