After School Illustration & Drawing Class
Kids After School Illustration and Drawing Class (Thursday, 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm), age group: 9 to 13 years old
In this Illustration class, young artists will develop their artistic skills in drawing and learn how to represent the world around them. Working from still life, photographs, images from art history, or independent themes, students will be introduced to the fundamentals of drawing techniques such as shading, composition, perspective, and colour theory.
Students will experiment with an exciting variety of media and techniques to develop their own personal style. Through a variety of creative exercises, they will gain confidence in their drawing ability and learn to trust their artistic instincts. All students are welcome, whether you are a complete beginner or looking to improve your skills.
Thursdays, 4:00-5:30 pm:
- Fall session 1: September 13 to October 25 – 7 weeks for $195
- Fall session 2: November 1 to December 13 – 7 weeks for $195
- Winter session: January 17 to March 7 – 8 weeks for $220 +HST
- Spring session: March 21 to May 2– 7 weeks for $195 + HST
- Summer session: May 9 to June 13 – 6 weeks for $170 + HST
All materials are included in price. Drop in / try out session is $25. Class space is limited to 12 kids
Kathryn Chelin Bio:
Kathy Chelin has a wealth of experience teaching art in both the Elementary and Secondary panels. For the past 25 years, she has taught enriched classes in Drawing, Painting, Illustration and Sculpture at Unionville High School, the designated School for the Arts in York Region. She also teaches at the Artbarn, the Varley Gallery, the Prosserman JCC as well as the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education.
