Technical Theme: Impasto Painting in the Style of Vincent Van Gogh
How would you like to have an authentic masterpiece, like a Claude Monet, a Vincent van Gogh, a Frida Kahlo, a Gustav Klimt, or a Pablo Picasso painting in your home? In this new series of workshops, artist, Victoria Wallace, will show you how to create your very own masterpiece inspired by some of the world’s most renowned artists.
Vincent van Gogh (1853 –1890) was a Dutch post-impressionist painter who is among the most famous and influential figures in the history of Western art. His artwork included landscapes, still lifes, and portraits, characterised by bold colours and thick applications of paint on canvas, called impasto, laid on so thickly that the texture of brush strokes or palette knives were clearly visible.
In this Masters Series segment of workshops, you will learn a modern take on Vincent van Gogh’s bold impasto techniques with acrylic paints and textured mediums.
The finest artist quality acrylic paints will be provided in this series of workshops.

*Instruction suitable for artists with some drawing ability to professional artists.

Victoria Wallace Bio:
Victoria Wallace is an visual artist whose trompe l’oeil techniques have been mastered through years of mural painting. Her commissions include television, film, theatre, restaurants, and private collections.
She has exhibited at the Art Gallery of Peterborough, in the Distillery District, Toronto, as well as at Proximity Fine Art, NU Work Gallery in Warkworth and at Rail’s End Gallery in Haliburton. Victoria teaches at Haliburton School of the Arts, Fleming College in Peterborough, and the Art Gallery of Peterborough.
